Challenge

Duplication project activities and capacity adequacy works, including special works of art in BR-163 / PR: cross-section BR-280 (A) / 373 (A) (currency SC / PR) - PR / MS (Parana River Bridge - Guaíra); subway junction PR-182 (Marmelândia) - junction BR-277 (for Cascavel). PROSUL was hired by DNIT to supervise the preparation of the projects and consequent execution of the works.

Solution

• The project foresees the duplication of BR-163 between Cascavel and Marmelândia, in a route of approximately 74 km, in which the highway interconnects the municipalities of Santa Tereza do Oeste, Lindoeste, Santa Lucia and Captain Leônidas Marques. Eleven viaducts, two elevations, four catwalks and a bridge over the Iguaçu River were proposed, with 478 m and a central free span of 162 m. In addition to these works, the project also foresees the execution of two contours: Santa Maria and Lindoeste.

• The work is of paramount importance for the regional development of the West of the State of Paraná, since it is inserted in one of the main corridors of agricultural outflow. A great economic benefit is expected in the states of Mato Grosso, Paraná and Santa Catarina, which will be able to dispose of their products more quickly and safely, with reduced accidents and greater comfort and safety for users.
